Here at Rutgers, we are nearly over with midterms. However, I feel like I am just beginning my 4 year college career all over again. Ive been working on fixing my HTML page for web authoring, starting my paper for History of Photography and managing the idea and production of making new photographs. Meanwhile, I still need to create a portfolio for #latelastnight to try and become a part of the photo team. I am honestly more interested in my images for the BFA, BA annual show: Systems. I did not want to approach the show theme with the literal but rather with something that works a system when paired with something else. I have been exploring the ideas of sex and sexuality and the intimate moments of sex. Ideally I wanted the images to be somewhat abstract so that the viewer may not immediately know what the image shows. Here are two photos that I am highly attracted to that I created this week. One is inverted and edited within Adobe Photoshop CS6 and the other is simply scanned and given layers and curves not being inverted.

Fridays Boredom
Fridays are always hard for me. I look forward to Fridays as soon as Sunday comes around, but I am trapped by boredom. My senior thesis class meets on fridays, (most days), and it is usually a quick class so far. Today for example, we got out nearly 3 hours before the end of class time. I simply came home, made the breakfast I had been thinking about and went to sleep. For 4 hours. Can't really consider that a nap huh? Now that I'm awake I am dying of BOREDOM! I am usually not in New Brunswick during the weekends but until I get picked up by someone I am stuck here. I should work on my HTML homework but I actually somewhat understand it now so I am going to save it for tomorrow's boredom. I keep thinking of loading film into my 4x5 holders now that I have about 7 of them. That's a whole 14 photos I can take if anyone was wondering, which I am actually excited about. I just cannot seem to motivate myself in my apartment. I've learned since this summer that I need to be constantly entertained or moving. I usually work all the time and now that I do not have a steady job I have a whole lot of downtime. Its making me crazy, causing boredom!

Thinking vs Doing
I need to spend a lot of time figuring out the perfect exposure for my images. Only problem; 4x5 camera. Its so large that I can not casually take a photo. Over the summer I found an artist and images that I would love for my photographs to look like in terms of exposure and lighting. I've been trying to recreate the darks and light parts of the image. I wonder if they were shot in digital and turned into black and white or originally shot in film. Here are some of the links.
